pH Up is a liquid solution designed to increase soil pH. It contains potassium hydroxide which can increase soil pH because it is an alkaline compound. When added to soil, it releases hydroxide ions, which decreases the concentration of hydrogen ions in the soil solution. This, in turn, raises the soil pH, making it more alkaline.
